Fashion chain French Connection has launched a branded social network. A New Movement is in its infancy but aims to attract a young music and fashion audience. Encouraging“self expression” through photo and content uploads, and involving users with exclusive gigs.
French Connection is not the first UK clothing brand to engage in social networking; both Topshop and ASOS have seen major benefits from this, although neither have actually launched their own platform to participate as yet.
High-end retailer Aquascutum is also looking looking to develop its online presence. It will launch a revamped website with video streams, podcasts and lifestyle content later this year.
