Web Trend Map 2007

web-trend-map.JPG

Like a who’s who of what’s hot right now on the web Information Architects“˜Web Trend Map 2007 Version 2.0′ plots the current blogosphere top 200.

Inspired by the Tokyo metro map, sites are divided onto lines like ‘Social News’ or ‘Community’ by category, proximity, success, popularity and perspective. The map labels who’s web 0.5 ““ Jakob Nielsen, who’s 2.5 ““ Facebook and who, like eBay and Wikipedia were “˜web 2.0 before the term was even coined’.

Following their “˜Internet 2007 Predictions’ which promised that Facebook would be the ”˜the internet act’ of the year, there are changes to the map. The newly added “˜insiders’ line contains tech bloggers, trend scouts and “˜You’ ““ the emperor in the centre of the palace. There’s also a “˜weather forecast’ indicating whether the next six months look stormy or ‘unreal’ for each site.
