‘groupPHOTO 2.0’ a snapshot of 2007’s online communities

groupphoto_homepage.jpgWe’ve been talking today to on- and offline media about a client project -Windows Live Space’s ‘groupPHOTO 2.0′

A Live Space has been created here for web users to submit a pic of themselves creating a snapshot of 2007’s online communities in the UK. The idea is to pull together in one picture, a range of images which are being posted across the web as people in the UK increasingly socialise online.

So why is Microsoft doing this? Because the team at Windows Live Spaces became interested in how much people are sharing photos via social networking sites (on Live Spaces globally over 8 million uploaded daily!)

Anyone can submit a digital photo of themselves for inclusion until 8th October, and once they’ve provided some brief answers, the pictures are clustered around shared interests like favourite band or film. We’re off to upload our mugs now.
