There are lots of tips out there on pitching bloggers; we spotted this particularly good post on Bad Pitch Blog. It’s nicely done as a short checklist to run through before contacting a blogger.
We couldn’t agree more with the point you should read a blog before pitching it! A favourite story from Shiny Media is when Dollymix received a press release about diet pills. Yes the site *is* aimed at women but… just read it to see why this could’ve worked out as some embarrassingly bad coverage.
If you work in PR and haven’t read Bad Pitch Blog before it might be worth adding to your RSS reader. Some of the posts make quite cringe-worthy reading (especially if you recognise yourself in them) but ultimately it can prove quite educational.
